Meet Areej, Physiotherapist

Areej has been practising as a physiotherapist for 4 years, and has experience working as a trainer with amateur athletes. To achieve the best results, Areej believes in a comprehensive approach to patient care that is goal-oriented and grounded in evidence-based research.

Raised in St. Albert, Alberta, Areej obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta before moving to Melbourne, Australia to complete her Doctorate of Physiotherapy. While living in Melbourne, she worked as a Sports Trainer with amateur Australian Rules Football teams, providing amateur athletes with injury care on and off the field. Areej also obtained her level 1 Pilates certification from the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute and is certified in Functional Dry Needling.

Areej is a firm believer in preventative care and that education is an essential part of the physiotherapy journey. She aims to educate her patients while helping them achieve their physiotherapy goals. Outside of the clinic, Areej enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and staying active at the gym.

Areej is able to provide physiotherapy services in English and Arabic, and is excited to give back to the community that raised her!

Lauren graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to that, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction, also at the University of Alberta.

Following graduation, Lauren has completed continuing education courses in manual therapy, acupuncture, trigger point dry needling, and concussion management. She has completed the Orthopaedic Division’s Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program Level 5 and is able to perform some spinal manipulations. She hopes to complete the exams to become an FCAMPT in Fall 2024, which will allow her to perform more spinal manipulations. Lauren is also interested in furthering her education in assessing and treating temporomandibular joint dysfunctions.

Lauren believes in treating her patients through a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and education. She takes a patient-centered approach to care and encourages her patients to actively participate in their road to recovery.

Lauren grew up in a small town and has always enjoyed living a healthy, active lifestyle. She played many sports before moving to the city for university, but she particularly loves winter sports such as ice hockey and snowboarding. Meet Patrick, our Lead Physiotherapist/Owner

Patrick is a seasoned physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience across private practice, and outpatient healthcare in both hospital and military base settings.

Patrick graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy in 2008 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree from Cape Breton University in 2006. During this time, Patrick enjoyed playing junior and senior hockey, as well as varsity soccer with both Cape Breton University Capers and the Dalhousie Tigers.

Patrick began his physiotherapy career in a private practice setting in Pictou, Nova Scotia, treating many types of sport, work, and motor vehicle-related injuries and rehabilitations for people of all ages. In 2013, Patrick and his wife, Jessica moved to Inuvik, Northwest Territories. During his time there, Patrick treated individuals in a hospital outpatient setting. Since his university days, Patrick has spent many hours volunteering, coaching high school soccer and track teams, as well as pee-wee and bantam hockey, while completing various coaching certifications.

Since relocating to St. Albert in 2017 Patrick has enjoyed working with Canadian Forces members in a fast-paced outpatient clinic, treating a variety of sport, work and physical training-related injuries. He and his family are now proud to call St. Albert home and are very excited to be opening and operating a family-based physiotherapy clinic in this growing community. Patrick will continue to apply the same tried and tested foundations that have served his practice well in the past – a patient-centered approach, relatability to patients, strong manual therapy and exercise prescription.

Jenna graduated with a master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2012. Prior to physiotherapy, she attended the University of Manitoba to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Therapy, Kinesiology. During her time as an athletic therapist, Jenna worked with a variety of athletes including hockey, track and field, basketball, football, volleyball and soccer. With specialized training in assessing and treating women’s and men’s pelvic health conditions; Jenna can help treat incontinence, prolapse, post prostatectomy, pelvic pain, pregnancy and post-partum issues. Jenna has experience dealing with all ages (children to elderly), and all stages of injury (acute to chronic) as a result of sporting/recreational activities, post-surgical, motor vehicle accidents, repetitive injuries, poor biomechanics or chronic conditions/diseases. She believes in assisting patients return to their normal activities of daily living with functional exercise, manual therapy, pain management and education. Outside the clinic, Jenna enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, being outdoors, camping, and cooking.
